** UPDATED ** I updated to a cleaner version of the background image and got a screenshot for the GDM theme manager. Re-download and update if you want.
I got this image in a much smaller size with a *blotter acid* effect in a square around her. I removed that and added some matching blue to increase the size.
I have no idea who the original artist is so if you do, PLEASE let me know!
The new xsplash system does not allow the same old GDM themes... and there is no way to port it because of the way they do things in GDM now... I am sad... but there are instructions on how to install the old GDM that does support this theme, in the new 10.4 and higher!! Just take a look in the ubuntu forums and on google for "old GMD in new ubuntu" or some such nonsense...
hey, awesome GDM, i've been using it for a while now and after my reformat i figured i'd leave a comment this time. How would i change the font of the login screen and what font are you using? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you decided to comment!
The font is called NICHTLUSDUENN. It is in the .tar file. You just have to move it from there to your /usr/share/fonts/ttf folder. You might need to sudo or whatever to get it in there. Lemme know if you have any problems!
Thanks again! I'm glad you like it! Remember, keep an eye out for this image in other places. I really want to find the original artist!
yea, i've seen the original before i think, i'll ask my friend because no doubt it was his desktop wallpaper for a while, i think if possible, it would be really cool as one of the login screens with a menu so that you can click your name rather than type it in, also i think if you have smoke coming from the cigarette which will also be part of the background for the login interface it might visually improve it, just a couple of idea's i think might work but it's up to you
